Maryna Popova Art

E-COMMERCE WEBSITE FOR MARINA POPOVA ART STUDIO

This project revolves around creating an e-commerce website for Maryna Popova, a young artist who recently launched her art studio.

The primary goal is to showcase Maryna's art collections online and establish an efficient online point of sale. The website aims to provide a seamless platform for visitors to explore and purchase Marina's artworks, facilitating a broader reach for her artistic career.

Timeline

2 months

Team

I was the sole UX/UI designer directly interacting with a customer. I was responsible for determining the overall direction of the project.

What I did

  • End-to-end website design
  • Shopify Development

Tools

  • Figma
  • Shopify

Challenges

  • Picking the best platform for the simple small e-shop, and deciding if we wanted to make it a fancy boutique-style store or more commercial but easy and fast to make.
  • Implementing Maryna’s vision of a light and elegant shop and providing a user-friendly experience at the same time.
  • Templates and platform limitations.

Solution

We opted for Shopify as our platform of choice. It aligns with our goals and allows us to get the site up and running quickly, enabling us to kickstart our learning and iteration process early on.

Solutions

Curated collections

We grouped our art pieces into themed collections, making it easy to navigate and find what resonates with you. Each piece is showcased in a real-life interior setting, giving you a glimpse of how it might enhance your space.

Quality assurance

We guarantee high quality with detailed product descriptions, including dimensions, materials, and shipment information.

Home page

The homepage provides an introduction to our art collection with a dynamic video, showcasing our latest pieces and inspiring interior settings.

Visitors learn about Maryna's artistic approach and can explore collections from specific years. They're invited to sign up for newsletters for updates, while the footer neatly organizes essential information.

Building elegant brand identity withing the constraints

We created a cohesive brand identity, ensuring design consistency throughout.

This involved creating a color palette that not only provided sufficient contrast but also complemented Maryna's drawings without competing with them. Additionally, we selected elegant fonts that aligned with Marina's artistic vision.

Maryna's branding

Product page

For the product page, our goal was to anticipate and address all potential client inquiries.

We achieved this by adding detailed product descriptions covering aspects such as the artwork itself, materials used, dimensions, and authenticity. Additionally, we provided essential information about shipping methods and safety measures, ensuring a seamless and informative browsing experience for our customers.

Art commission

We've created an art commission page to simplify custom drawing requests. The main objective behind this initiative is to enhance communication between our clients and the artist. Clients can now submit inquiries about their desired drawing, which helps them articulate their ideas by answering a few carefully crafted questions.

The commission page provides us with valuable project details that help us understand our clients' vision better and deliver personalized artistic solutions. This approach facilitates more constructive conversations during follow-up calls, resulting in a better outcome for our clients.

Next steps

01

Provide curated collections, mood boards, and blog posts showcasing home decoration ideas with art. Offer tips on how to integrate the drawings into your home.

02

Add Hotjar to identify any barriers and most/least exciting pages and elements of our store. Use insights to optimize user experience and give users more of what they like.

What I learned

  • Shopify is a powerful tool for creating an e-commerce store quickly and easily. Its user-friendly interface and robust features helped us to develop our online store quickly and smoothly.

  • Although the limitations of the templates we used initially posed some challenges, they ended up being beneficial in speeding up our workflow and making the process more efficient once we figured out how to work with them.

  • Our brainstorming sessions with Maryna were incredibly fruitful, and we were able to generate our best ideas for the shop during our workshops.
